Hidden places- STL Aquarium

Looking back, I have realized that I am lucky to live right outside of a city such as St.Louis. There are so many hidden activities to do that are not overly expensive and nowadays are made to be COVID safe. One of my favorite most recent adventures was visiting the St.Louis Aquarium.

Although it was not my first time visiting the aquarium it still was the perfect afternoon filled with learning, family, and fun. Overall Union Station as a whole has been redone and now is the perfect place to enjoy a fun day. The aquarium itself is not huge but it is created in a way that allows you to journey through the sea with hands-on experiences. Spending time watching sea otters play, and reading about Lord Stanley, there is plenty to do throughout the entire thing.

My favorite part was of course petting the stingrays. Although I was a little timid about it after seeing the stingrays swim right up to people and splash to say hello, I decided that I had to do it. I could have spent all day standing at the table watching them splash around and petting them, however, there was much more to see.

After the stingrays, we got to see above the big tank filled with over 5000 animals and learn about the different types of sharks, and other species that live in it. We saw the octopus move around in its tank, turtles swimming, and learned all about the sea.

If you can’t tell I loved every second that I spent in the aquarium and hopefully will be able to go back soon to see the sloth. However, until then I will just think back on the fun time that I had on this visit, and plan my next adventure.
