Avoiding the Covid-19 Void

Amid all the craziness in this new CoVid-19 world, one thing that has been lacking is in-person social activities. My everyday life went from being full of friends, activities, and a lack of downtime to nothing but downtime. My friends and I have tried to fill the void that Covid has created through facetime and zooms, and although this has worked at keeping us connected there still has been an emptiness in our hearts. An emptiness created through the inability to see everyone's smiles, eye rolls, and hear the laughs that we all have come to know and love. This is why my friends and I found a way to fill this void, while still adhering to the new social distancing guidelines that society is filled with. We all drove up to our local park and parked our cars in a little circle, opened our trunks, and had a little picnic Covid style. Each of us brought our food and stayed for a few hours catching up on life. Forgetting about all our responsibilities like online school it was in a way our own senior skip day to make up for the one that was missed back in April. Spending our day roasting each other, laughing, and catching up time flew by for the first time in what felt like forever. By the end of the afternoon, we all left filled with joy, and a little less sadness because for those few hours nothing mattered except for the time that we were finally getting to spend together in person.

Here are some of the photos I took during our picnic:

All photos were taken 6 feet apart, on a Canon EOS Rebel t7.
